As the 24/25 season draws ever nearer, SRU's Game Development are relaunching the ‘Same Game, Different Shirt’ campaign to encourage more people to take up the whistle and to give Match Officiating a go. Referees are key to developing the growth of the game in Scotland whilst also a great way to stay fit and to keep involved in rugby.

The Introduction to Match Official Course is the first step on becoming a referee. This free course consists of online modules to develop knowledge around the laws, and a 3-hour face-to-face workshop to develop the skills to step into the middle and referee a 15-a-side game. 12 courses are running across the country in July and August so we encourage all our members and friends to come to the Edinburgh session: press here
